Updates from chez Anna
Feb. 1st, 2011 11:57 amLet me tell you about my life!
1) My brother joined the army. No, really. Yes, he did it three weeks before his 40th birthday when he would not be eligible. As I write this, he is in basic training. This has something to do with him playing the trombone. No, I don't know either.
2) Don's voice, as I said before, has recovered. Don's stomach, on the other hand, is a mess of evil and bad. :( He was originally scheduled to see a specialist next week, but because of his elevated pain levels he can't get out there so that appointment has been moved someplace much closer to home, but now not until March (they do once a month scheduling).
3) Thesis is going kick ass. I hate to say that not doing FWD has been a huge boon to my academic life, because it makes it sound like FWD was this horrible drain on my life and that I'm happy not to be doing it. I miss FWD, and I really miss everyone I worked with there, but being able to buckle down and focus has been just... well, the thesis is coming along tickety-boo and my adviser gave me some kudos for the work I've been doing and getting praise from Dr. T is like ice cream except much rarer.
4) Operation Get Out Of Halifax has ground to a bit of a halt because instead of getting rid of all the things to make moving easier I've been thesising. I miss getting rid of all the things, but, thesising!
5) Allegedly the snowpocalypse is coming to Halifax, but not till tonight. Rumour has it that the storm was planned by the government to prevent tomorrow's protest against tuition increases. Sorry, Rest Of This Area Of North America: We're why you have so much snow.
I miss people. I hope you are all doing well. My vague plan is to update next when either I get a few more chapters done or when I hear from my uni apps.
