I think Don's hiding....
Aug. 25th, 2010 08:17 pmI'm a terrible mood. My thesis is going no where, the semi-annual "Everything bad about Canada is in Alberta" thing has started up again (even though in the same article the stats cited indicated that the situation was worse in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and no I'm not getting into it), the weather is still terribly hot and humid, Don's still sick and is probably going to die or shrink in the wash or something, I don't even know, and someone said something stupid on Tumblr and now I hate everyone.
Except you. You are awesome.
Let us speak of awesome things.
I started a
halifax_ns community last night. It has two members, and I know both of them. (Because one of them is me.) Join! Pass the word! Share things! Yay!
These Choice Of games are amusing me to no end this week. I have brought down a King! I have also become a Dragon Queen. They're fun, but Collecting All The Endings is a bit much. And yet, I want all the endings.
I really enjoy the blog The Quack Doctor, which highlights various medical treatments in the past. They can be a little gross (top of the page right now is "tape worms"), but very informative. I enjoy it because, you know, medical history.
Speaking of awesome blogs I have been following: Shitty First Drafts is highly recommended for new, current, or recovering Grad Students. Tanya Roth is also writing about grad school, specifically the process of editing her dissertation right now. Five Years Down, Nine Months To Go made me feel especially good about how my thesis is kicking my ass right now, because it is a process.
Eh, that's the extent of my Good. Who has Good Stuff to share?
