I realize that I am responding to the least important part of this article, but...
....seriously, how often does the issue of snake companion animals even come up?
The rest is equally eye rolling, I grant you, and if larger disabled friendly bathrooms are so awful, I kinda wonder why I keep seeing so many people who aren't wheelchair users (who may, granted, have invisible disabilities that I'm not aware of) using them.
