Who else do I know is doing SSHRC applications? Or NSRC? Shall we commiserate? I hate this time of year, and the knowledge that I will need to apply for grants for the rest of my academic career is not helpful.

Hello! New reader, also a Canadian grad student, also in the middle of SSHRC and other grant applications.
I'm currently experiencing periods of intense denial/procrastination combined with rounds of wracking self-doubt. Have briefly considered prostitution and/or working in retail as viable alternatives to a life of grant applications.
