Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities! The twitter hashtag is #intdayofdisabled, and I have scheduled tweets throughout the day at my twitter @annaoverseas.

I did know today was coming up, but I've been so very very down lately that I didn't write anything really about it. My post today at FWD is about my reactions to having written that terrible Record of the Dead for three months, and why I'm not going to be doing it going forward. (I'm happy to send people stuff about it if they want to do it, but seriously, I don't recommend it. The news stories are constantly horrible.)

I felt so horrible just reading the posts I can't even imagine what it must've been like to compile it. I applaud your dedication in having done so this far, honestly.

ETA: on a happier note, yay IDPWD? (any reason we know of why it's persons instead of people? I've seen that before and it's always confused me.)

It's a UN-designated day, and all of their days are Persons. I'm not sure why. It comes from the UN Year of Disabled Persons, which I *think* was in 1983.
